DOUBLE BILL

By putting trust on trial performance artists Stella Pearce and William Joys perform collaborative reinventions of their individual repertoires. Exploring a collagic method of performing they may or may not juxtapose, interrupt, convolute, undermine, strengthen, love, honour or betray each other’s performances. 

Stella Pearce

Stella Pearce is an artist investigating negotiations of power, violence, surprise and the erotic across painting, performance, film and photography. She was the Vanguard Award winner in 2024-2025 and has shown in and produced events across London, the UK and in Europe. She is currently part of the Conditions Studio Programme, Croydon.

William Joys

William Joys channels characters which arouse suspicion about the endorsement of authenticity over ‘artificial’ construction. He performs through layers of subterfuge, becoming an object which embodies the prop, the stage, the costume, in order to promote the art of actressing. He has exhibited and performed at Glasgow International, Kunsthalle Münster, Germany and will present a new performance Metronome at Chemist Gallery, London in late January. He is currently part of the Conditions Studio Programme, Croydon.
